Taipei Xiahai City God Temple
The Xiahai City God Temple counts its marriages in boxes of engagement cakes, brought back and registered at the office by couples who prayed to its matchmaker, and in 2025 the temple's publicity head put the average above 6,000 couples a year. The matchmaker is a statue of the Old Man under the Moon, 43 centimeters tall, donated in 1971 to a temple that has kept to the same plot of about 1,640 square feet on Dihua Street since 1859.
