Dyatlov Pass Incident
Nine hikers led by Igor Dyatlov died in the northern Urals in February 1959; searchers found their tent cut open from the inside and footprints leading downhill in socks or bare feet. Two had chest fractures and skull damage that a Soviet investigator likened to a car crash, with no external wounds.
