The Ommeren Treasure
On the 3rd of January 2023 the Dutch National Archive published a hand-drawn map with four red crosses on it, released after 75 years under the country's official secrets act. It came from a German soldier and marks where he said four boxes of loot from a 1944 bank explosion were buried outside the village of Ommeren. Dutch officials looked for it twice in 1947 and found nothing. The people who arrived with metal detectors in 2023 have done no better.
