The White Lady of the Brandberg
A rock painting in a Namibian ravine, sketched by a German geologist in 1917 and named in 1948 by a French priest who read the central figure as a Mediterranean woman brought to Africa in antiquity. The figure is male, and it is male in the 1917 sketch too.
