Falcon Lake Incident Area
In 1967 a Winnipeg machinist prospecting for quartz said he touched a landed, disc-shaped craft in the Manitoba bush and was burned by it, leaving behind injuries doctors couldn't fully explain and what Canadian researchers still call the country's best-documented UFO case.

Memphre
A Magog diver spent 28 years collecting sightings on Lake Memphremagog and would only enter one in his file if the witness signed a declaration or recorded it on tape. He logged over 4,900 dives in the same water and never saw the animal himself.

Nahanni Valley
In 1908 Charlie McLeod found his brothers Willie and Frank on a riverbank in what is now called Deadmen Valley. Both skeletons were missing their heads. The heads were never found, and the Scottish engineer who went in with them in 1905 was never accounted for at all.

Oak Island Treasure
A small Nova Scotia island where a buried, booby-trapped shaft discovered in 1795 has driven more than two centuries of treasure-hunting, six known deaths, and theories ranging from pirate gold to Templar relics, without ever producing a confirmed treasure.

Ogopogo
The Syilx called it N'ha-a-itk and left an animal in the water as payment before crossing. The English name comes from a music hall song performed in Vernon in 1924. In 2021 the City of Vernon, which had held the trademark for decades, voted to hand it to the Okanagan Nation Alliance for one dollar.

Sable Island
A crescent of sand in the open Atlantic has wrecked over 350 ships, earning it the name Graveyard of the Atlantic. Wild horses have lived among the wrecks for 250 years, and no one is certain how they got there.

Screaming Tunnel
A limestone drainage tunnel outside Niagara Falls where, according to a century of local telling, a girl burned to death decades ago and still screams if you light a match at midnight inside it.

Shag Harbour UFO Incident
The RCMP logged it, the navy searched for it, and the paperwork is still held at Library and Archives Canada under Department of National Defence file 3800-10-1. On the night of October 4, 1967, several people reported lights going into the water off Shag Harbour. Nothing was recovered.

Sign Post Forest
A homesick US Army private repainting a directional post at Watson Lake in 1942 added an arrow pointing to Danville, Illinois. There are now somewhere between 75,000 and 100,000 signs on the site, roughly 2,000 arrive every year, and nobody curates any of it.
