On January 25, 1966, Jane, Arnna, and Grant Beaumont took a bus to Glenelg Beach, and a postal worker last saw them walking away with a tall, suntanned man. No body, weapon, or forensic evidence has surfaced, and the case carries a standing A$1 million reward.

Fisher's Ghost
On February 2, 1827, a Sydney court convicted George Worrall of murdering his Campbelltown neighbor Frederick Fisher, a ticket-of-leave convict who had vanished the previous June. The court heard about blood on a fence rail and an Aboriginal tracker who found the body in a creek, and nothing about a ghost. The ghost first appears in print in an 1832 poem, and the town has held a festival in its name since 1960.

A one hectare cemetery island off Tasmania's most notorious penal colony, holding roughly a thousand convicts, soldiers, and colonists, where visitors and guides have reported children's voices carrying across the water since the 1870s.

A 20-year-old pilot told Melbourne air traffic control that something was orbiting above his Cessna, said it was not an aircraft, and went off the air on October 21, 1978, after 17 seconds of open microphone. Neither he nor the plane has been found.

The Somerton Man
A man was found dead against the sea wall at Somerton Park on December 1, 1948, carrying no identification, with every maker's label cut out of his clothes. Genome sequencing named him in 2022. The coroner has still not signed it off.

Wycliffe Well
A roadhouse on the Stuart Highway that called itself Australia's UFO capital, built on a sightings record kept by servicemen during the Second World War. The book was stolen in 1990 and the site was abandoned after a flood in 2022.
